Electrical systems cause many quality defects when poorly adjusted, especially bruises and fractures.
Precision adjustment ensures quality results equivalent to gas system, without any detriment to animal welfare and to halal slaughter requirements when applied.

Validation of stunning systems

Innovative technology to evaluate and attest unconsciousness of animals at the time of slaughter. The methodology is based on a set of analyzes of digital electroencephalography (EEG), digital electrocardiography (ECG) and clinical signs.

Validation is applicable to all animal species and all stunning systems, including electrical, gas and mechanical methods.

STEPS National Humanitarian Slaughter Program

The Program, created under the Technical Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture (MAPA) and World Animal Protection, is administered by a team of experts with the objective of:

  • Train Animal Welfare Officers;
  • Train teams that perform pre-slaughter and slaughter operations;
  • Train teams to catch birds and to board porks;
  • Train live truck drivers;
  • Adequacy of plants to Brazilian and European legislation on humanitarian slaughter.

In partnership with specialized universities, analyzes of softness, succulence, flavor, shear force, color, water holding capacity, and others are performed. The analysis of the quality attributes allows accurate diagnosis of the physical and organoleptic characteristics, enabling the elaboration of projects that aim to eliminate the fundamental causes of quality problems.
